ICMP/ATLA/LE RÉACTEUR
INTERNATIONAL SONGWRITING CONTEST 2019
In partnership with The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (http://www.icmp.ac.uk) et Le Réacteur (http://www.lereacteur.fr) the 3rd annual ICMP/ATLA International Songwriting Contest will be held starting in January 2019 and it's open to all the students of ATLA in Paris and certain Songwriting ICMP in London !
You have the possibility of presenting your original song in front of a jury of music professionals and a shot at winning the grand prize of a recording of your song along with a video of a live performance filmed and edited by professionals as well as a residency with intensive training and a paid concert as an opening act in a concert promoted by Le Réacteur.
PRELIMINARIES
► Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 1pm to 6pm, Nashville room (ATLA School, Paris). All ATLA students are invited to present an original song in English or French (or both or any other language) at the Nashville classroom on Thursday, January 10th. Please write or print out the title and lyrics of your song as well as your name, your cell phone number and your ATLA student email address on a sheet of paper. You will present your song with one instrument and one voice (no playback but you can be accompanied by an instrumentalist).
12 candidates will be selected with the following criteria :
Melody : 25%, Text : 25%, Harmony : 25%, Performance : 25%.
The ICMP students should send MP3s and lyrics of their songs to Jonathan Whiskred for preselection.
ROUND 1:
► Monday 14th January, 2019
Master Class with John Meldrum @ ICMP London @ The North London Tavern
► Thursday January 24th, 2019
Master Class with Jonathan Whiskred @ ATLA Paris
12 candidates from each school will be chosen for the Final Round.
FINAL ROUND
► THURSDAY MARCH 21st in Paris or Issy-les-Moulineaux
10 finalists – 5 ICMP and 5 ATLA will sing their songs in a free concert open to the public in front of a jury. There will be 2 winners, one from each school.
